Obligatory shot to show pockets |
The top is from Burda magazine made in 2005. Here is the review , but I'm afraid the original picture has gone missing.
The most time consuming part of this skirt is the seam finishing and it looks so pretty you don't mind the extra time spent on making your own binding and then applying. I used a light weight cotton, and although I love it is a little too young for me but it is perfect for details like these.
The zipper does not match because it was the one I had when working in this project so I used it, after all it is an invisible zipper so it doesn't matter right?
Lovely outfit! You chose great color. I giggled when I read that you used the different colored zipper because I did the same thing: I sewed the red zipper to my orange V1247 skirt for the same reason you stated. :D
ReplyDeleteCute cute cute cute cute! Love all your contrast seam finishing.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to make mine again before the summer is out. I made one last summer but I'm not too happy now with how it turned out and think I can do better now.

I've ordered this pattern with the same thought of lengthening it. I looks great and the inside finish is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great pattern and the more I see it made up, the more I want it! Love the fabric you have chosen and your finishing!
ReplyDeleteGreat skirt! It is such a terrific pattern isn't it? Every version I have seen of this skirt has been super cute, and yours is no exception :)
ReplyDeleteI love the color you chose for your new skirt. It really is a cute pattern, and you did a beautiful job sewing it up; inside and out!
ReplyDeleteCute skirt. It would be perfect for golfing. If one golfed.
ReplyDeleteI love that colour. Your skirt looks fabulous. I admire your patience to make your own bias and do Hong Kong finish on all the seams. My skirt is nearly done (for two weeks now) but I did not do the fancy inside. I just don't have time (or inclination truth be told) to spend this much time on the inside. I had to add 10" and I am short!
ReplyDeleteThe skirt combined with that top makes such a pretty summer outfit. Those are some of my favorite colors. I think I need to make that skirt before summer ends. I am just afraid, with those great pockets fore and aft, I would put stuff in them and ruin the lines.
ReplyDeleteI WANT your skirt!! This is my favorite color. Love, love how you finished the inside. So cute.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous skirt , I adore that shade. I am definitely getting this pattern.
