Burda Style 2/2010 112 A quick top

I had all intentions in showing this simple top in a creative outfit, but yesterday we had ice in the morning that quickly became slosh as the temperatures went up and it rained; so, it was jeans and weatherproof boots for me today!

There isn't much to say about this. I'm always looking for the perfect boat neck, is this one it? I'm not sure. When I first finished it I realized that in styles like this I need a 36 at the shoulders instead of my usual 38; the neckline was all sorts of wonky and not laying nice at all. So I went and took in a bit at all the shoulder/necklines seams and now it is behaving. Of course as soon as you put a cardigan on top the neckline will droop a bit, I think it is just the way of the boatneck. Just know that the sleeves are on the long side and so is the body, which I like and I can see adding a nice belt to change the look.

  2. This is a perfect top. You can change the design around and make it again and again. A good TNT.

  3. Great top! I agree with Gwen - a teeny bit of tweaking and you could make this up in multiples.

  6. What a nice top! It looks gorgeous on you!
Since you are familiar with the shot cotton I used for my top, you will know it is unsuitable for quilting. It is very light.

  11. Lovely top--and the color is really flattering. As for a TNT Boat Neck pattern, I'm sold on the Textile Studio Santa Monica Tee--I really like the darted raglan sleeve on that one.
