A dress for me!

Today I got to wear a new dress! A super simple to make, can you say the serger is a wonderful quick and efficient friend =)

I have always loved the simplicity (no pun intended!) of this Simplicity 2054 a Cinthia Rowley pattern. It is a t-shirt lengthened to an A line dress. I could have lots of these in my closet...easy to wear, easy to accesorize specially during those mornings when there isn't a lot of time to think about what to wear.

I wore it with a cardigan today and no belt,  I think I like it even more with the belt. I also like the sleeve length since we don't all have Mrs Obamas's shapely arms.

I'm so excited to sew! What next! I'll let you know when I decide. If you have suggestions for any must have garment/pattern let me know! I have been out of the loop of the greatest and most popular.

I'll be back soon!

  1. Hi Lisette! Welcome back :) This is a beautiful dress! I like how you took the time to mach the sleeve pattern with the rest of the dress. Also the dark blue color at the waist gives this dress an optical illusion as if the dress were fitted at the waist. It looks great on with or without the belt.

  3. Love it! I have that fabric and made it up in a similar pattern. We could scare people together in our tie-dyed loveliness!

  5. Me gusta mucho el estampado que has elegido y también me gustan este tipo de vestidos, sencillos pero con un complemento puedes hacerlos más elegantes.

  6. Great dress! It definitely looks like an easy one to style with different accessories. How fun to make clothes for yourself again after all of those Wizard of Oz production costumes! I just attended the Pattern Review Weekend in San Francisco -- Sandra Betzina brought a bunch of her beautiful garments and I have to tell you that they look much more beautiful in real life than on the pattern envelopes. Maybe you can check out some of her new patterns on the Vogue site for new project ideas!
